Dīˈnamik Rock Climbing Comes to Utah

Boouldering - Gephardt Daily

Top climbers from around the states joined together on January 21, 2015 at The Front Climbing Club in Salt Lake City to take part and compete in one of the largest climbing competitions in the country.

It is called The Dīˈnamik Bouldering Championships and this year it was held in Salt Lake City Utah. The Front Climbing Club is Utah’s premier indoor bouldering and rock climbing facility.

They are located at 1450 S. 400 W., SLC, Utah.

The Front’s spacious rock climbing club, Utah’s spacious indoor rock climbing area is specifically designed for bouldering. The draw is that the facilities have something for everyone, from the beginner to the hard-core competitive climber.

Professional and amateur climbers alike battle it out for their share of a $5,000 cash purse and there is also over $10,000 in prizes and giveaways.

The Front Climbing Club has held The Dīˈnamik Championships at their location in January 2014 around the same time as Sundance, just like they did this year in 2015. They are going to continue hosting this event at their location in Salt Lake City.

Anyone is able to participate in the climbing, even if you are just a beginner you can soar to the top with the big kids and even adults.

[/one_fourth][three_fourth_last]Ciri Turk, one of the young ladies who helped with the event and works at the Front Desk of The Front Climbing Club, stated, “the youngest child that they had climbing during their second session of the day was only about 11-years-old and the oldest was 35 and older.”

Ciri also told us that The Front hosts Dīˈnamik  in hopes of bringing the community together and get them psyched for climbing. They also get a chance to see some professional climbers like Alex Honnold.

Alex Honnold is an American rock climber, best known for his free solo ascents of big walls. He has broken a number of speed records, and most notably the only known solo climb of the Yosemite Triple crown.  Check it out here: http://libertymountainclimbing.blogspot.com/2014/07/how-to-climb-yosemite-triple-crown.html

The Front sees a bit of business booming after the competition. Mostly the first couple days after the Championships. People buy the day passes and there is a large increase in membership passes.

Rock climbing and bouldering is becoming increasingly popular. More of it is being seen on television and Social Medias.
